Underdog Menace: Giant killers on the loose

Bangladesh send India packing
Fixture: Bangladesh Vs Sri Lanka, Asia Cup
Venue: Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur
Result: Bangladesh won by 5 wickets
Nazmul Hossain took 3/32, accounting for the Sri Lankan big guns Mahela Jayawardene, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Kumar Sangakkara. Chamara Kapugedara (62) got together with Lahiru Thirimanne (48) to bring about some stability to the inning. Bangladesh however were in no mood to relent, as they went on to restrict the Sri Lankans for a modest 232 all out.
The rain gods made an appearance and after a long delay, Bangladesh's target was reduced to 212 from 40 overs.
In reply, Bangladesh were reduced 40/3 before the two left-handers Tamim Iqbal (59) and Shakib Al Hasan (56) put on a 76-run partnership for the 4th wicket. Sachitra Senanayake then removed both batsmen, as silence descended on the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium. Bangladesh 135/5.
Nasir Hossain (36) and Mahmudullah (32) launched a counter attack, and stayed till the end to ensure that Bangladesh entered the final of the Asia Cup
