Dhoni played innings of his life in World Cup final: Yuvraj

Indian Premier League kick started just six days after India's World Cup win and the cash-rich league barely allowed both the Indian fans and the cricketers to savour the sweet taste of being champions of the cricket world.

This is probably the reason why, in the middle of a punishing IPL schedule, a few Indian cricketers from the World Cup winning team found time to get together and relive the moments which booked their place in annals of cricket's history. Indian captain MS Dhoni, vice-captain, Yuvraj Singh, along with offspinner Harbhajan Singh, leggie Piyush Chawla and hard-hitter, Yusuf Pathan gathered at a function which sought to felicitate them for the World Cup win.

Mumbai: Cricket World Cup's "Man of the Tournament" Yuvraj Singh complimented Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni for his match-winning innings of 91 not out in the final of the mega event on April 2, terming it as the latter's best-ever knock.

"It was a dream come true. As MS (Dhoni) said (earlier) I did not know what to do. I wanted to jump on MS and keep jumping on him. He had just played the innings of his life," the flamboyant batsman said here about the Indian skipper's masterly innings, in the latter's presence.

The Ranchi-born wicketkeeper-batsman had promoted himself to number 5 above in-form Yuvraj and simply took away the game from Sri Lanka by slamming two sixes and eight fours in his 79-ball masterpiece at the Wankhede Stadium. Dhoni, only the second captain after Kapil Dev to lead India to the game's showpiece trophy, put on 109 runs for the fourth wicket with Gautam Gambhir (97) and an unfinished 5th stand of 46 with Yuvraj, who remained unbeaten on 21.
