Rain stops play
Chris Gayle hammered 54 runs in style. Marlon Samuels helped himself to a half-century. Shane Watson clubbed three sixes in his unbeaten 41. Mitchell Starc picked up three wickets. But the central force of the day was rain. Heavy showers had the Sri Lanka versus South Africa game reduced to a 14-over match. The hosts fell 32 short of the 79-run target. The clouds returned to hamper Australia's chase. Duckworth-Lewis calculations showed Watson's big-hitting had kept the Aussies ahead of West Indies before rain played spoil sport.
