All jeers no cheers: What went wrong for the Indian team?
The bowlers had set the game nicely. The Australians were 196-4 in 38.1 overs and looked good for a 270-280 run total. The visitors though were never allowed to explode in the last ten overs. The Australians managed to score just 49 runs in the last ten as Praveen Kumar and Ashish Nehra bowled a tough line and length mixed with the odd slower delivery. A couple run-outs added to the troubles of the visiting side, and in the end they finished up with a mediocre score of 250 runs. Given the form of the Indian batters in the series and the dew factor in Mohali, India looked set to go up 3-1 and grab the number one spot in the ICC ODI rankings.
Done in by dew
After giving nightmares to Ricky Ponting, the dew factor returned to haunt MS Dhoni this time. The Indian captain very categorically said at the toss that the dew factor was the reason why he decided to bowl first in the game. In sound batting conditions India fielded first, although in the second innings the Aussies did not look too much perturbed by the dew around.
Hi.... did u see 5 ODI.Its just unbelievable. My heart broke seeing the match.Just for 3 runs
..........What about sachin ......He has proved himself now.Do you notice that sacin always play fabulousy in last ODIs of a series.I was sure that he would play very well in this match and seeeeeeee. What the hell happened in the end.Wickets fell Quicky and......It was a very horrible match. and what about the bowlers.
I think they should plzzzzzzzz. Keep the order like this and try playing.
M.S Dhoni
S. Tendulkar
Yuvraj.S
G.Gambir
V.Sehwag
Harbajan.S
S.Raina
P.Kumar
R.Jadeja
A.Nehra
I.Sharma
OR
S.Tyagi
Where is Manish Pandey. plzzz consider him in indian team. I am sure he will play well
Hei idiot, have you not seen Cameron White given wrongly out for a false claim by Dhoni?
You conveniently forgot that and moreover sachin gave edgy batting display throughout the series...Apply something that's on top of your head (if at all you have one).
1. Sachin Tendulkar
2. M.S.Dhoni
3. Suresh Raina
4. Yuvaraj Singh
5. Harbajan Singh
6. Virenjer Shewag
7. Ravindra Jadeja
8. Praveen Kumar
9. Munaf Patel
10. Sudeep Tyagi
11. Amit Misra
Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni can be the opening batsman. Followed by Suresh Raina and Yuvaraj Singh.
If Gowtham Gambhir is fit to play, he can be in 2nd order and drop Sudeep Tyagi or Amit Misra.
The reason for Virenger Shewag in 6th place as he is a quick scorer. We lack the middle order and need to comphensate the score in 5 or 6th place, atleast he has to stand for 8-10 overs.
Harbajan Singh is placed in 5th position, as is a great hitter and can score runs and he needs to play even for 3 or 4 overs.
Ishanth Sharma can be rested for 3 matches.
And this batting order will score good runs even if the wickets falls in interval.
Hope the management reads my thread and make necessary changes to win this series and make India No. 1 position.
ASK NOT what went WRONG for TEAM INDIA,ask WHAT went RIGHT for TEAM OZ..
The OZs "bent their backs" bowling. Bollinger was exceptional and Siddle was also too good.
But as I have said before 100 percent effort will also have a downside of 100 percent Injuries.
The OZ team have learnt that Indian pitches and weather are as bad as one can get. They both bog down the stamina.
Here the OZ Team won but at the cost of BOLLINGER AND SIDDLE and possible other speerheads.
Soon we will have the President of the OZ Team being shipped in to play the remaining ODIs.
