Vijay’s ton powers Chennai into fourth IPL final

Murali Vijay smashed this season's fastest century that helped rampant Chennai Super Kings knock out Delhi Daredevils with a comprehensive 86-run victory over the table toppers. What contrasting performances from Delhi and Chennai in the play-offs. Delhi, the table toppers, get thrashed by Kolkata Knight Riders in the 1st qualifier and then completely outplayed by defending champions Chennai Super Kings in the 2nd one which puts a rather sad end to their journey this season. The only consolation prize for them, an assured berth in Champions League T20.

Chennai Super Kings, on the other hand, had a back-door entry, thanks to Deccan Chargers' upset victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore. Since then, they have improvised their performance and played good cricket on both crucial occasions to make it to the finals fourth time in five years. In the finals against Kolkata Knight Riders, CSK will not only be looking to defend their crown, but also score a hattrick of sorts with their third consecutive title victory.

Murali Vijay is the Man of the Match for scoring the fastest hundred this IPL which propelled CSK to a mammoth 222-5 from their 20 overs.
