Talking about the emotional visit, Hamilton said that he felt good to finally meet the three-time champion, who is buried in Sao Paulo's Morumbi cemetery with just a simple brass plaque marking his grave.

"It was the first time I'd met him so it was good. It was only a matter of time before I went. I've wanted to do it for the last two years, but I was always being followed. It is a very humbling place and it's very simple the way they do it," The Sun quoted Hamilton, as saying.

"It was a special moment for me. There were a couple of others there too so it wasn't a private thing. I didn't want to be there with other people. I was there for five minutes maximum and left," he added.

Senna was killed in a crash while leading the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix, and remains the most recent Grand Prix driver to die at the wheel of a Formula One car. He is also regarded as one of the greatest drivers in the history of F1.
