Occasion: India in Australia Test Series - 3rd Test, 1977-78
Result: India won by 222 runs
Star(s) of the match: BS Chandrasekhar 6-52, 6-52
Description: Gundappa Vishwanath and Mohinder Amarnath's partnership for 105 runs for the third wicket guided India to a respectable total of 256 in their first innings, after both the openers, Sunil Gavaskar and Chetan Chauhan, fell early without troubling the scorers. Chandrasekhar however brought Indian back into the match with his brilliant 6-52 as the home team folded for just 213. Gavaskar made up for the first innings with a brilliant century to strengthen India's lead. Chasing 387 for a win, the spin duo of Chandrasekhar (6-52) and Bishen Singh Bedi (4-58) ran though the Australian batting to bundle them up for a mere 164 and win the match by a convincing margin of 222 runs.
