Sri Lanka Vs India
Match: Asia Cup - 11th match
Year: 2004
Venue: R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo
Scores: India 271-6, Sri Lanka 267-9
Result: India won by 4 runs
Man of the Match: Virender Sehwag
Sanath Jayasuriya's single-handed attack on the Indian bowling unit guided the better part of the Sri Lankan chase and virtually threw India out of contention for the finals berth. However once the dashing left hander departed, with Lanka still 18 short of the target, Indian pacers picked up the remaining two wickets quickly to set up thrilling victory for Team India. Earlier, Virender Sehwag (81 off 92 balls), in his customary slam-bang style, along with skipper Ganguly (79) put India on track for a big total and later Yuvraj's 50 guided them to 271 in a must win match.
