As 2012 comes to an end, we bring to you the best ODI knocks of the year

Score: 113*
Opposition: Pakistan
Venue: Chennai
Result: Pakistan won by 6 wickets

This heroic ton by MS Dhoni was undoubtedly one of the best performances of his ODI career. He came in when India were sinking at 29-5 and there was very little hope for India to even get to 150. Under tremendous pressure in front of a fired up Pakistan attack, Dhoni held his nerve to take India to a respectable total. Helped by an early lifeline, Dhoni fought like a tiger against fatigue on a severely humid day to put the Indian innings back together. Unfortunately, his performance was overshadowed by an equally impressive and steady ton by Nasir Jamshed which eventually saw Pak through. He was however, fittingly given the Man-of-the-Match award for his determined effort.
