A devastating crash, involving as many as 11 cars, on the last lap of the second-tier Nationwide Series race at the Daytona International Speedway injured 33 people in the stands. The crash was triggered off as the race leader Regan Smith attempted to block fellow driver Brad Keselowski and consequently another driver, Kyle Larson's car went airborne into the fence. Chunks of debris, including a tyre, went into the stands. While 11 spectators were critically injured and rushed to the hospital, none of the drivers received any threatening injuries.
