T20 WC: Pakistan beat New Zealand by 13 runs
It was the first thrilling match of the 2012 T20 World Cup. Unlike other, one-sided, drab affairs, this one kept the spectators on the edge right till the last over. New Zealand did well to restrict Pakistan to 177. Nasir Jamshed carried Pakistan's innings with a half-century, but it was Ajmal's 4-wicket haul which was the highpoint of the match. Ross Taylor and James Franklin's late heroics kept New Zealand in the chase. The Kiwis needed 19 runs off the final over, which Ajmal bowled excellently well to add two more wickets to his name.
