It was a prolific year for Jacques Kallis with 944 runs in 9 Tests at an excellent average of 67.42. The South African veteran started off the year with a double against Sri Lanka. Kallis played a vital role in defeating England in the 1st Test at The Oval, where along with Amla, he grinded the home attack into submission. His final ton in 2012 came against Australia in Brisbane, one which proved that he is still the best in the business.
