September 2011- Illness keeps Yuvraj away from game
Having defeated cancer, Yuvraj Singh has made his way back into the Indian squad for the upcoming T20s against visitingNew Zealand. Yuvi's return to the game marks another successful triumph over the deadly disease. India's 2011 WorldCup hero spent couple of months in America for the treatment of a Stage-I cancerous growth on his left lung and thesubsequent recovery. The middle order star batsman had resumed training in July at the NCA in Bangalore. We certainlycan't wait to see Yuvi back in Indian jersey. While welcoming Yuvi back from the battle, we at MSN India take a look at hisrecovery timeline
India's World Cup hero Yuvraj Singh had to return back home after sustaining a fracture of his left index finger during India's tour of England later in August 2011. Yuvraj then decided to see the doctors for 'bouts of coughing and vomiting that troubled him during the 2011 World Cup'. Several tests, scans and a biopsy revealed a golf-ball-sized lump found over his left lung. More detailed scans and biopsy indicated that the tumour is non-malignant and non-threatening.
