Wasim Akram 50
Date: 7 April 1995
Match: India v Pakistan, 3rd match
Result: Pakistan won by 97 runs
Venue: Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium
Why the knock is valuable?
Inzamam made a fluent 88 and opener Aamir Sohail punched a run-a-ball 40, but the most telling knock; one which broke the Indians mentally, came from Wasim Akram. The legendary pacer stamped his authority with a fiery half-century that contained four boundaries and two sixes. By the end of Pakistan's innings, Indian shoulders had dropped and Pakistan already had the air of a winning side. Aaqib Javed's swing fetched him five wickets and India succumbed to another of their familiar losses in an era where they could rarely get past Pakistan, especially at the desert arena in Sharjah.
