Sodhi is India's sole representative in the men's double trap event and preparations for London 2012 could not have gone much better, with the 32-year-old enjoying the most prolific period of his long career.
He suffered the heartbreak of missing out on Beijing in 2008 but has since helped to fuel the rise of Indian shooting and has an impressive medal collection already.
A gold at the 2010 ISSF World Cup event in Lonato, Italy was followed by two more at the ISSF World Cup final in Izmir, Turkey and the Asian Games in Guangzhou.
He also won silver at his home Commonwealth Games in Delhi when he came through a three-man shoot-off and another silver at the ISSF World Cup event in Beijing last year secured his place for London.
In 2011, Sodhi topped the world rankings and he successfully defended his world title in Al Ain, UAE, last October - the first Indian to do so - when he beat Chinese rival Hu Binyuan in a shoot-off.
