Remembering the 2008 Beijing stars
Chris Hoy
After the 2008 Olympics, Britain's Chris Hoy became Sir Chris Hoy. The knighthood was richly deserved. Hoy, also known as the 'Flying Scotsman', whizzed past his rivals at the Laoshan velodrome in Beijing and corralled three Olympic gold medals within a week's time. The epic effort made Hoy the first Briton in 100 years to win three medals at one Olympics. Surprised by his rich harvest at the Games, Hoy said, "It's been a crazy few days. I'm knackered." Hollywood director, Steven Spielberg should take some credit for the Scottish's Olympic achievements, for its after watching ET that the cycling bug caught Hoy.
