Ezekiel Kemboi - Athletics
For an athlete to be facing serious assault charges back home and to still compete and win Gold medal at an Olympics must be more than a special experience. Kenyan steeplechase specialist Ezekiel Kemboi's London journey was in doubt after a woman claimed she was stabbed by Kemboi for resisting his sexual advances. The athlete was cleared for participation only on the premise that 'A person is innocent till proven guilty.' Kemboi used the opportunity to participate and came up with a stellar performance in the final of 3000M steeplechase to win gold. Truly a great feat considering so much was hanging over his head.
